Weidmüller is a German company in the electrical connective technology sector. The company's headquarters are in Detmold, in the region of Ostwestfalen-Lippe, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Weidmüller is a global giant with production facilities, sales companies and agents in 80 countries. In the financial year of 2015, Weidmüller generated a revenue of EUR696.3 million and the company employs nearly 4,500 people across the world. Weidmüller's electrical connection products are primarily used in mechanical engineering, the process industry, power generation and renewable energies, transport technology, building infrastructure and in the field of equipment manufacturing. Weidmüller is known for producing high-quality products. In 1850, Weidmüller was founded as a textile company by Carl August Weidmüller in Reichenbrand, near Chemnitz.
